Basic Computer Security Tutorial - How To Get Optimum PC Protection For Free By Azwan Asmat

Recently, many anti-fraud websites have been subject to denial of service (DDoS) attack by fraudsters. Believe it or not, so you're not using protected computers to conduct DDoS attacks. Innocent people unknowingly help people make this irresponsible attack. This team is called "zombies" and the zombie computers are the computers infected by viruses or Trojan horses and used by fraudsters to carry out the DDoS attack.
The virus or trojan, it opens a backdoor on the target computer to hackers so that he or she will have access to the target computer. In some cases, hackers access is sold to another person and that person used to access any purpose that he likes. If a spammer gets access to your computer, use it to send spam emails.
The DDoS attack is made by the scammers by sending useless data to a web server and when the server can not handle the data stream, it'll crash. This is what happens now many anti-scam websites.
This is just one thing what hackers can do when your computer is not well protected. If I go to the list of what they can do to protect the not-so computers will be a long list. Therefore, we must protect our computer. However, some protection is a high price and some are free. In this article, I will say that you can get a good computer optimum protection without paying a penny.
1. Antivirus
Your computer needs an antivirus. A good antivirus will have real-time protection, good detection rate and easy to use. If you do not have antivirus on your PC, get one now. Antivirus can find and remove viruses and trojans from your PC. There are three that I recommend antivirus personally. Avast! Antivirus, AVG and Avira AntiVir Personal Edition.
2. Firewall
Firewall is important so you can lock the ingoing or outgoing traffic. If you have malware on your computer, it will not be able to send information from your computer and your firewall may block it. Once you've bought a new PC, I suggest you to activate the Windows Firewall before going online. While the Windows Firewall can not protect you from some malicious threats completely, but good enough to protect it before installing a new firewall. After that, you need to find a good firewall and install it on your system. Personally, I recommend two free firewalls. Comodo Firewall Pro and ZoneAlarm.
3. Spybot Search and Destroy
Spybot Search and Destroy is a good software for spyware, malware and adware threats in your PC. It also has some real-time protection and best of all it's free. It has good detection rate and can detect keyloggers inside your computer.
4. Ad-Aware 2007
Ad-Aware 2007 Free has been used by 250 million people, providing good protection. If you have some money to spend, consider upgrading to Ad-Aware 2007 Plus it has real-time protection. But the free edition is good enough if it is set in the budget. However, you need a bit more work because you have to search manually and has no real-time protection.

| Friday, April 10, 2009 |
Considering an IT Certification program also includes knowing what is available to you and what the specialization will allow you to do as well as limit you to do. There are several providers that will offer specialized programs that can affect the qualifications that you have. One of the providers that offer these specialized programs is Microsoft. By knowing what programs they use, you can determine if it is the right program for your IT Certification and specialization in technology.
The first type of training that Microsoft provides is the Microsoft Office Specialist. This will give you the basics about different Microsoft databases that are frequently used. The latest versions of Microsoft word applications, such as Microsoft Office will be studied. You will learn about Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access with the Office Specialist Certification.
The second type of IT Certification that you can get from Microsoft is the Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, or MCSD. This particular certification will give you knowledge about how to develop different technology programs used by Microsoft. If you are interested in this particular certification, you will be taking four exams to get the entire credit. This will be used to develop visual studios, using the Internet, and how to use Microsoft’s software of ADO. From here, you will learn how the infrastructure of Microsoft works, especially in relation to databases, e-commerce and different maintenance structures.
Another type of training that you can get from Microsoft is known as the Microsoft Certified Trainer. These are the people that will be training you to teach the technology and troubleshooting areas that are related to Microsoft. If you get this type of training, you will be able to provide online or in the classroom training to others who wish to become IT Certified.
A Certified Database Administrator is another option for those interested in IT Certification. This will allow you to work with the infrastructure of a company as well as to implement certain software when needed into a company. This specific IT Certification will require for you to take three exams. One will be based on your understanding of the server that you will be using, known as SQL. You will also learn about the environment that is related to this server, and how it affects the various databases. Learning the other software, how to maintain and develop the different software and applying the right technology into the right areas will also be part of this certification training. |
